Sand Lake
Sitting 20 minutes north of Grand Rapids, Sand Lake, Michigan is a peaceful general law village in Kent County. The 150-year-old village originated as a lumber town and has been more recently recognized for a fun-filled annual Fourth of July festival. The Sand Lake village wraps around the south and east short of Sand Lake. The streets are lined with maple and oak trees, giving the community a warm, welcoming feel. Downtown is quite active and offers a little of everything, from bargain shopping to restaurants and service organizations. Visitors are especially welcome on the way to and from Grand Rapids.
