Readington
Readington is a small township in the eastern part of Hunterdon County in the state of New Jersey. It has a population of around 15,000 residents. It was King George II who created the township by Royal Charter in 1730 as part of the Amwell Township. This township actually spans 48 square miles which makes it the biggest township in the county, spanning nearly 11% of the county. This township is actually home to the global headquarters for the pharmaceutical company Merck & Co. It is also home to the Chubb Corporation and Quick Chek Corporation. The town is home to a few notable residents including the former congressman John De Mott, the field hockey player Robyn Kenney, and the playwright William Marchant. It is also home to the baseball player Jack Cust and the first governor for the state of Indiana Jonathan Jennings.
