Gainesville
Gainesville is a charming southern town in southwest Alabama. The Gainesville Bar waterway runs along the north part of the town, and farms and woodlands ring the rest of the area. Gainesville is well-known by Civil War enthusiasts due to the fact that Confederate General Nathan Bedford Forrest surrendered to Union General Wilson outside of the town in 1865. Most of the town's 200 residents are older, and the area is fairly diverse. Farming and manufacturing are Gainesville's most popular industries.
