Delmont
Home to just under 2,000 residents. Delmont, New Jersey is an unincorporated community that is located within Maurice River Township. This community has a history that dates back to 1770, when it was first settled by European immigrants.
The original name of this town was Ewing's Neck. That reflects the name of the family who were some of the first settlers. In 1891, the name was changed to Delmont. Today the town is home to just under 2,000 residents. The town is home to the New Jersey Department of Corrections Southern State Correctional Facility, where many of the area residents work.
The Delmont United Methodist Church, which was built in 1872, was recently renovated. The original Delmont school, which was constructed in 1887, was demolished just a few years ago to make way for the city's first park. The homes in Delmont are of the modest, single-family variety, and they are on par with the state averages in value.
