East Providence
Very few communities and cities in the United States have as long of a history as that of Rumford, East Providence, Rhode Island. Nestled in the northernmost part of the city of East Providence, Rumford is a neighborhood whose reach extends far back into the colonial period. Founded at the time of Plymouth Colony, Rumford is home to beautifully sprawling colonial era homes that were created at the turn of the 17th century. Lawns are manicured in a rich green tapestry that sits as a stark juxtaposition to the harsh brick outlay of the residences. Near both Rhode Island and Massachusetts, the Ten Mile River and numerous different fish hatcheries border Rumford and bring an emphasis on the natural beauty of the northeastern United States throughout the neighborhood.
