Malden
Malden is a small city located inside of Middlesex County in the state of Massachusetts. As of 2010, the city enjoyed a population of 59,450 people. Bloomberg Businessweek designated this area the “best place to raise your kids” in the state of Massachusetts. The hilly region was originally settled in 1640 by Puritans. It was purchased from the Pennacook tribe back in 1629. The area was named after the city of Malden in England by Joseph Hills. By the time the American Revolution came about, the population had reached 1,000 residents who collectively resisted the British oppression and took part in tea boycotts. A same-sex couple from this city was the first to marry legally in the state of Massachusetts. In total this area spans 5.1 square miles giving it a population density of 11,656 residents per square mile. There are 25,000 households and of that, 13,000 families living in this town.
