Pawtucket
Pawtucket is Rhode Island’s fourth largest city, bordering the state capital of Providence. The city has a rich heritage, dating back to its founding in 1671, that includes significant contribution to the industrial history of the U.S. as a major hub for textiles among other areas. Its name is derived from the Algonquian word for “river fall,” as the city encompasses three distinct water basins—the Blackstone River, Moshassuck River and Ten Mile River.
