Hicksville
A small Hamlet of around 40,000 residents, Hicksville is located in Oyster Bay, Nassau County, New York. The town was begun when a man known as Valentine Hicks bought land in the village and turned it into a station stop on the LIRR in 1837. Hicks was the son of the famous abolitionist and Quaker preacher Elias Hicks, and he turned the town into a depot for produce. By the end of World War II, it was a bustling New York suburb. Today, the famous company of Kozy Shack Pudding has its headquarters in the city.
