Daly City
Daly City, California sits just south of San Francisco in San Mateo County, CA. It was originally populated by Native American tribes, then the Spanish, but wasn't officially founded until 1906 when residents displaced by the earthquake and fire in San Francisco were forced to find a new home. Formed in the 1950's and stretching along the coast up to Lake Merced, the neighborhood of Westlake takes pride in being the first subdivision in Daly City and one of the first of many subdivisions that started popping up in the country after WWII. There's a strong sense of community is Westlake, making it a great area to live or visit, and if you are just passing through be sure to check out all the 1950's architecture designed by Henry Doegler
