La Verne
Just southwest of La Verne, California is an area known as Via Verde. Flanked on the east side by Frank G. Bonelli Regional Park and Interstate 10 to the south, Via Verde is a suburb of La Verne, and is largely comprised of the Via Verde Country Club and surrounding residential areas. Rich with country club-style living, parks, recreation, and conveniently only a short drive from Pomona, Los Angeles, or the Pacific Ocean, Via Verde and La Verne are both popular destinations for visitors. The area around La Verne is rich in history dating back to the early 19th Century. La Verne was a highly agricultural area in the early 20th Century with orange groves and citrus farms flourishing. Following War World II, the citrus industry began to decline in the area, leaving behind only two groves which remain today in La Verne. Today, La Verne and surrounding areas are ripe with education, tourism, and commerce. Considering its close proximity to Los Angeles, the area maintains a small-town feel, with plenty of hospitality.
