Chillicothe
Chillicothe, Ohio, is a town of 21,000, and it is the county seat of Ross County. The town has a long history, and it was actually the first capital of the state of Ohio. The town is designated as a Tree City USA by the National Arbor Day Foundation, because of its preservation of trees and ample green space.
Chillicothe is home to many beautiful parks, and the campus of the Ohio University - Chillicothe. The city is adjacent to the Scioto River, and residents enjoy the 5-mile long bike path runs on top of the floodwall that protects the city. This is a beautiful city, with lush green space, and it has all of the charm one expects in a rustic small town.
Historic downtown Chillicothe is a tourist draw in the area, and home to a national historical park. This is a fun place to live with events for all ages happening all through the year. There is also an excellent public transportation system here that you will seldom see in a town of this size. Historic sites are also close by, and there is enough nightlife to keep the younger set here entertained.
