Lakeport
The county seat of Lake County, Lakeport, California is a small, incorporated city nestled along Clear Lake in the northern part of the state. Originally settled by Native American’s up to thousands of years ago, with the first business being established in the area much later, in 1855. Lakeport was not incorporated until 1888, and remained the only incorporated city in the county for years. Today, Lakeport offers a rich historical district with wide streets and quaint shops and boutiques.
With its direct proximity to Clear Lake, the largest freshwater lake in California, Lakeport remains a haven for outdoor enthusiasts and water sport-lovers. With just over 5,000 residents in the city, Lakeport has a classic, small-town feel with plenty of regular activities for the whole family. Just a couple of hours away from Sacramento and San Francisco, Lakeport is also convenient to all that the big city has to offer.
