San Ramon
Located approximately 25 miles east of Oakland in the San Ramon Valley, the city of San Ramon, California, is a scenic beauty and significant regional employment center. San Ramon is at the heart of the valley, which is considered one of the most desirable living areas in the Bay Area thanks to climate, scenery, excellent schools, and proximity to the area’s major employment centers. This progressive city is the fourth largest in Contra Costa County, with an estimated population of more than 74,000.
San Ramon is home to the headquarters of 24-Hour Fitness and the Chevron Corporation. The latter’s corporate headquarters are located on Bishop Ranch, a master-planned office park development situated on 585 acres of what was once farmland. Other corporations in the area include Toyota, which has a regional office and parts distribution center located on Bishop Ranch, and United Parcel Service (UPS), which also has a regional office in the same area.
The city is currently planning a new downtown that will encompass 39 acres and will feature a unique atmosphere that blends community gathering, working, living, shopping, and dining experiences. This new city center has been a major dream since the city’s incorporation in 1983.
