Somerville
Winter Hill is one of the neighborhoods on the eastern portion of Somerville, Massachusetts. It is located a few blocks to the west of Interstate 93, giving visitors to the area easy access to other areas of Somerville or even Boston to the south. The name of the neighborhood Winter Hill comes from the hill located within the neighborhood which measures 120 feet.
The boundaries of Winter Hill are not always agreed upon but there are multiple buildings within the neighborhood that are part of the National Register of Historic Places. Some of these are Elisha Hopkins House and the Charles Adams-Woodbury Locke House.
There is a large Italian and Irish population in the Winter Hill neighborhood and this influence becomes obvious when looking at the restaurants in the area.
