Lahaina
Lahaina, Hawaii is the largest city on West Maui, and is a haven for tourism and commerce. With a history dating back to the 18th Century, Lahaina was once known as the capital of what was considered the Kingdom of Hawaii. With a resident population of just over 11,000 residents, Lahaina is a quiet community in contrast to larger metropolitan areas. However, during tourist season, population counts can rise by as much as 30,000 people. With tourism and the lush beauty of the area being so popular, real estate flourishes with some home and condominium prices rising to the millions. Even so, it does not take millions of dollars to explore and enjoy all that Lahaina has to offer.
Lahaina is rich with history and charm, and offers a unique glimpse into the culture of Hawaii through various festivals and special events throughout the year. The culture of Lahaina is diverse, and there are many ways to explore the area and experience true tropical bliss. Lahaina is also home to the PGA Tour’s Hyundai Tournament of Champions golfing event, which is a major source of tourism.
