Escatawpa
Escatawpa, MS is located in Jackson County, Mississippi and is part of the Pascagoula area. Previous names for the town included Dog River and Tugas and it has been inhabited since before the Civil War. The name of the town is originally a Choctaw Indian name but the spelling has been adjusted over time. Highway 63 borders Escatawpa to the east, and Cunningham Lake borders the town to the west. The south of the town is just north of the I-10 and the U.S. Highway 613 meeting the 63 marks the northern end of Escatawpa.
