El Monte
Norwood Village El Monte is a small residential and commercial neighborhood inside of the city of El Monte in California. It is part of the Los Angeles County. The slogan for the area is “welcome to friendly el monte” and the area is historically known as where the Santa Fe Trail ends. The population is around 113,000 people making it the 228th biggest city in America and the 51st biggest in the state. The name comes from the Spanish soldiers and missionaries who originally stayed in the area sometime between 1770 and 1830. The name refers to a mountain, in spite of there being no mountains in the area. There are many notable residents from this city including the author Salvador Plascencia, the Olympic shooter Kim Rhode, and the politician Hilda Solis.
