Grants Pass
Grants Pass, Oregon is a city of 35,000 in the east central part of Oregon. It is located along the banks of the Rogue River and is close to the nearby popular attraction, Oregon Caves National Monument. The weather in Grants Pass is unlike most of the rest of Oregon; it has longer, warmer summers and cooler winters than the cities closer to the Pacific Ocean, making it a great city for those who enjoy the change of seasons but don’t want the harsh changes that occur in the Midwest and East Coast.
Grants Pass is well known as a logging town. In fact, the timber industry has kept the town’s economy afloat for years, until recently when reductions in logging operations occurred in the area. Grant’s Pass is also the birthplace of Dutch Brothers Coffee, a well-known Northern Pacific Region staple. The Dutch Brothers manufacturing plant is located in Grants Pass to this day and offers tours to those interested in watching the coffee manufacturing process.
