Victoria
If you're exploring Texas, you'll probably drive through Victoria. Three major highways intersect here, and you're less than a two-hour drive of Corpus Christi, Houston, San Antonio, and Austin. This is why Victoria is called the “Crossroads.”
This city is also just 30 miles from the Gulf of Mexico with easy access to the deep water Port of Port Lavaca-Point Comfort and the shallow Port of Victoria. While the Victoria Regional Airport and a number of railroad stations are in the region too. With all the transportation options, many of Texas' goods come through here, and why industrial employers like Dow, Invista, Formosa Plastic, Caterpillar, and Alcoa have facilities in the area. These businesses all contribute to a thriving economy and give this city its other nickname - the “Golden Crescent.”
