Mansfield
Located in north-central Ohio just north of Columbus, Mansfield, Ohio is nestled in the foothills of the Allegheny Plateau. Founded by European Americans in the early 19th Century, Mansfield was a prosperous farming and manufacturing town. Early businesses in the home appliance industry, including Westinghouse, once called Mansfield home. The economic recession in the 1970s forced out many businesses, but in the last ten years a number of efforts to restore the city to its thriving former self have contributed to new growth and a vibrant downtown area. Mansfield has many old world charms and a rich industrial history, all on the edge of western Appalachia.
