Brea
A neighborhood in the eastern part of Brea, California, Olinda has a history that dates back to the late 19th Century when it was founded. The village grew in 1911, when oil was discovered at nearby Brea-Olinda Oil Field. This site is now a California Historic Landmark. This is a peaceful and quiet neighborhood where the residents share their homes with coyotes, owls, hawks, and rattlesnakes. The neighborhood consists of about 120 homes, many of them properties where horses are stabled, a condominium, and an elementary school. The area is served by the Brea-Olinda High School. This is a neighborhood where the residents enjoy a high quality of life, surrounded by scenic rolling hills. Just a short distance away is the Carbon Canyon Regional Park where streams, hiking trails, and other recreation awaits.
