An affluent community located in the Puente Hills of the San Gabriel Valley, Rowland Heights has close to 50,000 residents. This is an area that has seen plenty of growth within the last two decades, as what were once orange groves are now hillside homes that are occupied by upper middle-class, and upper-class immigrants from Taiwan, China, and South Korea.
Within the city is a sort of mini-Chinatown, with stores and shops catering to the Asian population of the town. The town has a public library with over 14,000 square feet filled with magazines, books, newspapers, and periodicals, and a community room with over 80 seats for meetings. The schools here perform at a high level, and the crime rate is low.
