Los Banos
Located in the San Joaquin Valley just southeast of San Jose, Los Banos is a nature lover's paradise. The name is Spanish for baths, and it is derived from the many springs that create the wildlife rich wetlands in the area. With a population of a little over 36,000 people, it is a slow-paced atmosphere with welcoming small-town charm. A few casual dining spots, hotel chains, and historical buildings are near the main attractions, The San Luis National Wildlife Refuge and the San Luis Reservoir. One is a bird watching paradise and the other is a hotspot for camping, fishing, boating, and watersports.
